Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission - OPVG Director Appointments

The recently amended Regulation 441 (Vegetables for Processing – Plan) sets out that the Ontario Processing Vegetable Growers (OPVG) board formed in the fall of 2017 will include four processing vegetable producers appointed by the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission (Commission). Two producers will be appointed from District 1, and one producer will be appointed from each of District 2 and District 3. The same number of producers will be elected from each of the districts and will serve two-year terms. Elections will occur after the appointment process has been completed.

Appointment terms will begin at the first meeting of the OPVG board in the fall of 2017, and end at the first meeting of the OPVG board after elections occur in the fall of 2018.
Average time commitment is approximately three to four days per month, fluctuating somewhat based on the time of year.
