2017 Green and Wax Bean Agreement

Changes to price were as follows:

1.    The minimum prices to be paid for all green and wax beans purchased f.o.b. field shall be as follows: 


    (a)    $210.64/ton ($214.94 in 2016) for all small whole beans.  All small whole bean varieties shall be identified at contracting time.  A list of small whole bean varieties is set out in Column I Appendix A.


    (b)    $187.22/ton ($189.11 in 2016) for all dual purpose beans, irrespective of end use.  All dual purpose bean varieties shall be identified at contracting time.  A list of dual purpose bean varieties is set out in Column II Appendix A.


    (c)    $166.22/ton ($167.90 in 2016) for all large cut beans.  All large cut bean varieties shall be identified at contracting time.  A list of large cut bean varieties is set out in Column III Appendix A.


    (d)    $155.26/ton ($156.83 in 2016) for all Romanos (Column IV).

 

There was a change to clause 4(b) to read as follows:

The grower shall be required to maintain and submit within 40 days of seeding a written record of crop protection products applied.  Failure to do so shall constitute breach of contract and may result in processor not harvesting crop.  Processor shall determine the approved crop protection products to be applied.  Failure to adhere to this list by the grower may result in non-harvest of crop.  Any acres unharvested as a result would not be considered by-passed acres.  Where the grower has not submitted records as required, processor shall send a registered letter to the grower within 5 days of harvest of growers’ crop notifying grower that payment is being withheld pending receipt of records.

 

 

All other clauses remain unchanged from 2016.
