Sweet Corn - Negotiation Updates

The sweet corn arbitration was held April 17th and 18th. The decision of the arbitrator, Lynda Tanaka was made in favour of the growers. The price per ton for the 2008 crop of sweet corn for processing is $91.
Agreement has been reached for the 2009 crop of sweet corn for processing. The price per ton has increased from $91 to $93/ton and the export credit has been eliminated. With the exception of an increase in the maximum cost per acre for seed from $86.95/acre to $93.60/acre (replant situations) all other clauses are the same as last year.
